| Tasiuyaq Monday January 12th 1998. We arrived at appr.16:00 to Tasiuyaq. It was very beautifull. The moon just srise, and was really red. Inuit here wishes us welcome by shouting "qamutiit", thatīs mean "sledges". And everyone shaked ud welcome. Wonderfull. We stay in a very beautifull house, warm and nice place. E ate forzen char and mattak. Took a bath. Happinness. It was a cold windy day some of the trip, but ith a nice sunny day. KARO Tasiuyaq Tuesday january 13th 1998. We are working on differents things today. Ono and Matiarsi are taking care of the dogs. Some of the dogs have problems with their sole because the route yesterday was different form what they were use to. Matiarsi had to have a dog on his sledge together with me, because it could hardly run. I think it had a great time just sitting there and enjoying the life. The dogs name is Paapaaq. It is clear that the dogs has to be taking care of because we need them all the way to Iqaluit. They and we will manage that. KARO |
