Letter for the kids from Avva After an almost a week holiday in Kuujjuaq we started our expedition. I was so happy because I love to run. At the beginning I ran so fast so I get tired. The first day the distance was very long 45 km, and it is first time I participate in a such a long trip.
During the night I slept on the ice. I was a little bit scared because there are wolves here in nearby. But because my brothers and sisters said they were not afraid of the wolves I stop being afraid. There are a lot of differents wild animals here, but because of the trees I didnīt see any. Sometimes I try to avoid the trees, but I did not succeed all the time so I get stucked into few of them. My brothers and sisters fight with each other, so they sometimes bleed and now some of them have infection on their wounds. I try to avoid fighting because you should remember I am the youngest one among all the others. We arrived Tasiujaq 13th of January in the late afternoon. A lot of people wish us welcome. I am a little bit shy because I donīt know the names of all these kids. We ate char for dinner, it tasted good. On our trip we eat dry dogfood, sealblubber, arctic chars and other kinds of foods which tast very good.
Tomorrow the January 14th we will start travelling to Aupaluk. It ill take us two days to reach Aupaluk. We plan to travel on the ice, that is very exciting because it will be first time I gonna do that. Bye to everyone of you kids Avva. ONO |
