These pages contains a diary about the journey on dogsledge in arctic
Canada.
The purpose of the expedition is to make
better ties between the Inuit people in the arctic and to increase the knowledge about the
arctic in general.
It began the third of january 1998. The expedition members are Ono Fleischer, Mathias
Ingemann and Karo Thomsen.
The route of the journey goes from Kuujjuaq (Fort Chimo) in Quebec, the goal is Iqaluit
(Frobisher Bay) in Northwest Territories.
Before this expedition there have been two expeditions.

The great inspiration for these expeditions is Knud Rasmussen, the
great polarexplorer, who was born and raised in Greenland.

Most of the time expeditionmembers will be travelling and will only be
able to send updated diaries when arriving to a place with access to an Internet dial-up.

We use different measures in USA and Europe. Therefore we have provided this page with
some useful tools. How much is miles in kilometers and how much
is Celcius in Fahrenheit.
The Great Sledge Journey are using some quite different tools and equipments. Here a list of some of the things Ono, Mathias and Karo brought
along with them.
Being in the arctic requires the correct clothing. Here are some pictures.
